Self-adhesive protective plastic films ˆ Top
From Korea, NichePlas imports a quality range of self-adhesive protective plastic films and tapes.

These are used as a protective agent that will adhere to a finished surface to protect it during further processing, transportation or storage. When no longer required the film can be easily stripped away by hand, leaving no residue. Typical applications include:
 Protection of building cladding during transportation and installation;
 Protection of car surfaces during transportation;
 Protection of plywood or laminated sheeting during transportation and installation;
 Protection of stainless steel, aluminium or plastic sheeting; and
 Carpet and glass protection during painting and renovation work.

A wide variety of adhesion strengths and backing film types are available to ensure optimum performance in all applications.

An extension of the protective film business is the manufacture of clean room mats. These consist of pads of plastic sheets with adhesive applied to the upper surface of the sheets. The pads are used as door mats at the entrances to clean rooms to trap foot-borne contaminants by removing dirt from footwear and retaining it on the sheet. The specially formulated adhesive will not allow dirt already trapped to be removed. New sheets are exposed by simply peeling off the top sheet and discarding it.

Also available are non-slip and double sided tapes.

Reflective sheets and fabrics ˆ Top
Reflective sheets are multi-layered films incorporating glass beads and a mirror-reflective layer. They reflect light strongly when illuminated from the front or at an incident angle. Available in a range of colours, they have performance characteristics such as durability and reflectivity values engineered according to the requirements of the application.

Key applications include road signs, traffic safety signs, temporary work diversion signs and industrial safety signs.

Reflective fabrics are also available for attaching to high visibility clothing. They are used on reflective vests and jackets worn by emergency services personnel.

Diffusion and Reflection films ˆ Top
These high performance diffusion and reflection films from Kimoto in Japan were developed for use in LCD back-lit units. They have also found good acceptance for light control and diffusion in illuminated signs and light boxes.

Water soluble plastic films ˆ Top
Sourced from Japan, water soluble plastic films have the unique property of dissolving in water. The degree of water solubility can be tailored for specific applications, so the films can be soluble in cold water, cold water and alkali resistant, or hot water. Once dissolved in water, bacterial action will cause the films to degrade. Thus they are environmentally friendly products.

Water solubility enables such films to be used in innovative new applications. Examples are:

 Unitized packaging of dyes, pigments, waxes, bactericides, and farm chemicals, which avoids direct  contact with the contents and where packaging disposal issues are eliminated;

 Seed strips – strips of film with enclosed layers of evenly spaced crop seeds, for direct sowing into the  ground, and where subsequent thinning will not be required;
 Laundry bags – allowing safer, sanitary conditions for health-care professionals and cleaning personnel.
